Minneapolis, MN — Two Johnson C. Smith University football student-athletes have been selected for the 2009 All-American Bowl football classic to be played inside the Hubert H. Participants will report to their first practice on Thursday, December 10th, a combine in front of NFL scouts will take place Friday morning, followed by a luncheon with guest speaker Dean Dalton. The bowl game will kick off on Saturday, December 12th at 9:35 a.m. CST inside Metrodome, home of the Minnesota Vikings.

“We're proud to have Kevin and Michael represent our program in the All-American Bowl,” said JCSU head football coach Steven Aycock. “This is a solid opportunity for both young men to make a memorable impression in front of some pro scouts, but overall I hope they learn from the experience and have some fun.”

Both players have aspirations of playing professionally somewhere, and this game provides valuable exposure as they prepare for the future.

Hall, a 5'8, 205 lbs running back from Milton, FL, saw limited action this season for the 3-7 Golden Bulls. He played in five games (injured early in the season) rushing for 38 yards off 11 attempts with one reception for 27 yards. In his first season after transferring from the University of North Alabama, Hall was the leading rusher for the Golden Bulls in 2008. He rushed for 388 yards off 100 carries and a team-high six rushing touchdowns.

Burroughs, a 6'1, 310 lbs offensive lineman from Mitchellville, MD started all 10 games this season at the right guard position. He helped open holes and provide protection for the offense
to amass 1383 yards on the ground and 1412 yards in the air. Burroughs has spent three seasons on the offensive line at JCSU, improving his technique each year.

The All American Bowl will feature two teams of 42-player squads. The Stars team consisting of college Division II/III All Stars will be in Royal Jerseys and the Stripes team consisting of mostly former college players who now play on Minor League, Semi-Pro and amateur teams in Red Jerseys.
