Luv-A-Bulls performing during the 2010 CIAA Super Saturday
Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University “Luv-A-Bull” cheerleaders were featured in the Black Sports The Magazine (BSTM) CIAA Tournament Cheerleaders' edition released March 2010. The issue is photo gallery of 10 CIAA institutions including Bowie State, Chowan, Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State, Livingstone, Saint Augustine's, Shaw, Saint Paul's, Virginia State, and JCSU.
Johnson C. Smith is featured on pages 33-37 of this 68 page edition. The issue spotlights senior captain
Marshae Puryear (Rochester, NY), sophomores
Kianna Culver (Durham, NC) and
Megan Reynolds (Winston-Salem, NC), and freshman
Raven Cobb (Seneca, SC).
Black Sports The Magazine, LLC covers people of color's involvement and accomplishments in sports, e.g., not just basketball or football. Coverage of sports of the Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) conferences is one of the centerpieces of the magazine. The four major HBCU conferences are featured: the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
