First match of the season


Fayetteville, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's bowling team competed against their Southern Division foes, completing with a 4-9 record at the CIAA Southern Divisional Meet from November 8-10, 2013. JCSU recorded 6,380 team match total pins, 2,506 baker pins and a total pin count of 9,336 and finished 4th of the Southern Division teams.

Fayetteville State placed first overall with 13,030 total pins, while Winston-Salem State was second (10,855), St. Augustine's finished third (10,324), and JCSU finished fourth (9,336).

Shaw placed fifth (8,493) and Livingstone was sixth with 8,922 (based on won/loss record). Fayetteville State finishes with a perfect 13-0 record and ranks first in the division. Winston-Salem State moves to second in the South (9-5) and St. Augustine's rounds out to top three (8-6).

Junior Brittany Rowe (Cincinnati, OH) led the team with a 171.4 average, scoring games of 160+ of 201, 163, 183, 201, 177, 158, 180, and 167. Rowe totaled 1,714 over 10 games. Junior Holly Walker (Cleveland, OH) averaged 154.7 and had high scores of 183, 181, 163, and 161 with a total of 1,547 pins.

The Golden Bulls will return to action on January 24-26 in the CIAA Divisional Roundup II at Petersburg, VA.
