After being shutout in their season opening doubleheader, the Golden Bulls rebounded with some offensive firepower. JCSU scored multiple runs in five of the six innings played. The contest eventually ended in the sixth due to the NCAA eight-run rule.

JCSU recorded four runs and two hits. Vierra then took the mound at the bottom of the inning. She walked one, struck out one, and grounded out two. However, Vierra did give up a RBI double to Heather Smith before the inning ended.

In the second, freshman Alicia Chaudion (Greenwood, SC) and sophomore Cabrisha Anderson (Atlanta, GA) both scored off a double to left field by Vierra. The Golden Bulls had a three-hit, two-run top of the second. Vierra closed out the second with two hits, but no runs scored.

The third inning was an explosion offensively for both teams. JCSU had three hits and six runs scored, while the Lady Vikings brought in four runs off five hits. ECSU held the Golden Bulls scoreless in the fourth while recording three runs of their own. Elizabeth City State trailed 12-9 going into the fifth.

JCSU concluded the contest with four runs and four hits in the fifth, followed by three runs and three hits in the sixth. Meanwhile, the Lady Vikings were three up, three down in both of the last two innings.

Vierra recorded her first career victory at pitcher. She tallied four strikeouts, but allowed 10 hits and nine runs. Vierra had a phenomenal day at the plate with four hits off five at-bats. She also added four RBIs and two runs scored.
