Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Raleigh, N.C. (March 21, 2015) –  The Johnson C. Smith softball team dropped three games at the CIAA Roundup on Saturday at the Walnut Creek Complex in Raleigh.

In game one against Chowan, JCSU dropped a 6-0 decision.  In the game against the Hawks, JCSU was limited to two hits, both from Morgan Hasty (Salem, Ind.).  The Hawks scored one run in the first and tacked on three more in the fourth to put the game out of reach.  An insurance run in the fifth and the seventh provided the 6-0 final.

Chowan roughed up JCSU pitching, hitting two homeruns and a double.  JCSU's Victoria Lopez took the complete game loss and fell to 1-3 on the season.

In game two, JCSU jumped to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Jocelyn Hernandez (Bloomington, Cal.) reached on an error.  She would later score when Stacy Peralta (Brooklyn, N.Y.) knocked a single to right field to give JCSU the 1-0 lead.  Peralta's hit was the only one for JCSU in the game.

Bowie State would go ahead 2-1 in the fifth inning scoring both runs with two out.  The Bulldogs' got a homer to tie it and then strung together three straight singles to drive in the go-ahead run to make it 2-1.

JCSU would never threaten the rest of the way, eventually falling 2-1.  Peralta took the loss for JCSU, and fell to 1-5 overall on the season.

In the nightcap, JCSU lost a 4-2 decision to Virginia Union.

The Golden Bulls will complete the CIAA Roundup on Sunday with three games against Virginia State (11:30 a.m., field two), against Elizabeth City State (1:30 p.m., field three), and against Lincoln (3:30 p.m., field three).
