Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Raleigh, N.C. (April 30, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith softball team dropped two games at the 2015 CIAA Softball Tournament on Thursday morning at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex.

The Golden Bulls met the Northern Division champion and top-seeded Chowan in the first game of the day with the Hawks escaping with the 4-1 victory. Chowan's Tori Cragan and Katlyn Brummett's each had RBI singles that gave the Hawks a 2-0 edge. Jocelyn Hernandez (Bloomington, Ca.) hit a solo homerun to center field to put the Golden Bulls on the board in the top of the fourth inning, but RBIs from Tina White and Chandler Bridges gave the Hawks all they would need to earn the 4-1 victory.

In the elimination game, Virginia Union rode a strong offensive performance to top the Golden Bulls 11-1.  A trio of RBI singles gave the Panthers a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second. JCSU plated a run in the top of the fourth before VUU's Shaquandra Brown hit a two-run single to left along with Taylor Hamilton's two-run homerun pushed the Lady Panthers ahead 7-1 in the fourth. Breanna Miller's RBI single in the bottom of the fifth gave Virginia Union an additional run before Hamilton's three-run homerun put the exclamation point on an 11-1 victory ending the JCSU season.

JCSU finished the season with a 12-18 overall record.
