JCSU Men's Tennis Falls To Catawba, 9-0

Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 19, 2015
) – The Johnson C. Smith men's tennis team opened the 2015-16 season with a 9-0 home non-conference loss to Catawba.

The Golden Bulls were only able to win two games in singles competition on the afternoon and one game in the doubles competition.   JCSU's Tarick Miller (New Orleans, La.) fell in his match at No. 2 singles to Lucas Miller by a 6-0, 6-1 count while teammate Gerald Miller (New Orleans, La.) also fell by a 6-0, 6-1 count.

In doubles competition, JCSU's Sharif Axam and Anthony Jefferson fell in their match at No. 2  to Catawba's Aaron Vanhorenbeck and Jack Mordey by an 8-1 score.

The Golden Bulls (0-1) will travel to Belmont Abbey on Saturday, Sept. 26 for an 11:00 a.m. match.
