			 JCSU Tennis To Open 2016 Spring Season Against QueensCharlotte, N.C. (Jan. 29, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith University tennis teams will begin their 2016 spring season on Saturday, Jan. 30 by hosting local rival Queens.  Match time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Coleman-Cuthbertson Tennis Courts on the JCSU campus.
The JCSU women return 2015 CIAA Freshman of the Year 
Kaylin Roman (Atlanta, Ga.) at No. 6 singles.  Last season Roman finished the regular season with a 6-0 record in singles and teamed with 
Michaela Colvin (Fayetteville, N.C.) in doubles matches where they won their final seven regular season matches to finish at 7-2.  In addition to the returners, freshman
Alisa Stevenson (Fayetteville, N.C.) is expected to contribute heavily for the Golden Bulls.
Last season, JCSU finished 11-10 overall and 9-4 in CIAA play.  The Golden Bulls advanced to the semifinals of the CIAA tournament by downing rival Winston-Salem State, 5-3 in the first round.
On the men's side, JCSU returns All-CIAA selection 
Tarick Miller (New Orleans, La.) at No. 3 singles.  Also returning from last season is 
Sharif Axam (Atlanta, Ga.),
Bradley Girgorio (New York, N.Y.), and 
Hazel Vazquez-Xaca (Pageland, S.C.).  New to the Golden Bulls are freshmen 
Anthony Jefferson (Atlanta, Ga.), 
Gerald Miller (New Orleans, La.) and 
Eric Lopez-Arauio (Ecuador).
