JCSU Bowling Goes Finishes CIAA Event I With an 8-4 Record

Laurel, Md. (Nov. 13, 2016) –
The Johnson C. Smith University bowling team had a productive weekend, going 8-4 as a team in the CIAA Event I held in Laurel, Md. and hosted by Bowie State University

Day three consisted of four Baker matches that saw JCSU compile a 3-1 record. In match one, the Golden Bulls downed Livingstone by a 667-539 score. JCSU then fell to Fayetteville State 787-729 before closing the day with two straight wins.  The Golden Bulls downed Shaw, 726-646 and St. Augustine's 683-604.

Collectively, JCSU posted a total pin count of 3,457 on day three to finish in second place behind Fayetteville State.

Individually, JCSU had two bowlers finish inside the top-10.  Junior Sarah Morris (Debary, Fla.) finished in fifth-place overall with a total pin count of 1,687, good for a 168.70 average. 

Teammate Alexis Haith (Waukegon, Ill.) finished in ninth with a total of  1,632, averaging 163.20.
