Bowling Goes 2-3 in Day One of CIAA Roundup

Fayetteville, N.C. (Feb. 12, 2016) – The Johnson C. Smith University bowling team completed day one of the CIAA Roundup in Fayetteville, N.C. on Friday, Feb. 12 with an overall 2-3 record in cross-divisional play.
In match one, JCSU fell to Virginia State by a 902-733 count. In that match, freshman
Sydney Brown (Davison, Mich.) had the high game with a 166. In JCSU's first win over the day in match two over Virginia Union (756-743), JCSU got the high-game of the day from junior
Alexis Haith (Durnee, Ill.), as she posted a 203. JCSU then fell to Bowie State and Elizabeth City State in consecutive matches before closing the afternoon with a 764-728 win over Chowan. Against the Hawks, Brown again led the Golden Bulls with a 193.
Collectively, JCSU had a total pinfall of 3,883 on day one.
Day two of competition continues on Saturday, with play beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the B&B Lanes.
