Newberry Downs JCSU Men's Tennis, 8-1
Charlotte, N.C. (Feb. 19, 2017) – The Johnson C. Smith University men's tennis team hosted Newberry on Sunday afternoon, falling by a score of 8-1.

The visiting Wolves took all three doubles matches without dropping a game, winning 8-0.

In the singles competition, JCSU's Eric Lopez (Ecuador) won his match at No. 6 singles over Austin Brinson 6-4, 4-6, 10-3. The win marks the first of the season for Lopez, as he improves to 1-3 on the season at No. 6.

As a team, JCSU falls to 0-4 on the season. The Golden Bulls will return to play on March 4 with a 1:00 p.m. road match at Benedict.
