Shaw Defeats JCSU Men's Tennis, 9-0
Charlotte N.C. (March 28, 2017) – Visiting Shaw University took all six singles matches in straight sets and took all three doubles matches, downing JCSU 9-0 in men's tennis on Tuesday afternoon at the Coleman-Cuthbertson Courts in Charlotte.
At No. 6 singles, JCSU's
Eric Lopez (Ecuador) was able to take a game in each set, but fell by a 6-1, 6-1 count to the Bears' Thomas Spada. At the No. 1 singles,
Marlowe Anderson (Charlotte, N.C.) fell by the same 6-1, 6-1 score.
In doubles, the JCSU tandem of Anderson and
Tarick Miller (New Orleans, La.) had the most competitive match of the day, but fell by an 8-3 count.
The loss drops JCSU to 2-9 on the season while Shaw improves to 2-3.
