The first noon elimination game on Tuesday saw Chowan defeat Johnson C. Smith, 5-4, in a close seven inning contest.

The Hawks started off the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the 1st, including a two-run home run by Jesse Gentry followed by solo homer from Lindsey Stigler.

The Golden Bulls would cut the deficit in the top of the 2nd on a two-run single by Randasia Daniels. Down 4-2 headed into the top of the 7th, JCSU would put together a late rally to tie the game with a pair of RBI singles courtesy of Alexis D'Louhy and Shenice Harrison. But the reigning champs would respond as Stigler would deliver a walk-off single to bring Haley Cooper in for the score and the win. Chowan advances to take on Claflin in the third elimination game of the day while Johnson C. Smith has been eliminated.
