CHARLOTTE - Johnson C. Smith University softball team took two wins in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association annual roundups on Friday afternoon at Walnut Creek Athletic Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Golden Bulls defeated Shaw 13-5 and Bowie State 9-6. With the wins JCSU is now 3-4 overall and 2-0 in CIAA play.
In the first game against Bowie State,
Moya Jones went yard and brought in three RBI's, while teammate Lacashass Lawson had a triple on the day.
Alissa Alvarado went five innings while striking out four and walking none.
In the second game of the day, Bowie State went up 5-0 in the first five innings until the Golden Bulls scored nine unanswered runs in the sixth inning. JCSU held off the Bulldogs in the final inning.
Alvarado is now 3-2 on the year.
