JCSU Set to Kick Off 2023-24 Indoor Track & Field Season

CHARLOTTE - Johnson C. Smith University men's and women's track team opens the 2023-24 indoor track and field season this weekend in Lynchburg, Virginia, competing in the Liberty Kick-Off event held in the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex on December 1, and competing in the Winston-Salem College Kick-off event held in the JDL Indoor Fast Track on December 2.

Combined events will begin the Liberty Kickoff each day, including the heptathlon 60 on Thursday at 1 p.m. and the pentathlon 60 hurdles on Friday at 9 a.m. The meet will include athletes from 21 different colleges and universities.

Admission is free of charge for the Liberty Kickoff.

For the Winston-Salem College Kick-off event held in the JDL Indoor Fast Track

Admission fee is $8 per person for adults.  Students ages 13 and up are $5.  Children 12 and under are free.
 
The track events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. with the preliminary events.
 
Field competition will start on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the men's and women's weight throws, followed by the shot-put events and the long jump.
