CHARLOTTE - A three-run scored third inning by Johnson C. Smith University (1-16) was enough to keep Voorhees College (2-3) at bay as the Golden Bulls snapped a 16-game losing streak with a 4-1-win Tuesday afternoon at the Stick Williams Dream Fields. JCSU fell in extra innings in game two 8-7.

The performances of
Taylor Bullard's two-RBI single and
Whittney Barringer's RBI single produced the four runs that eventually gave JCSU the win.
Jasmine Hogan registered four strikeouts and faced 31 batters.

In game two, Voorhees (3-3) took a 6-3 lead into the seventh inning. However, in the bottom of the seventh, JCSU (1-17) added three runs as
Moya Jones doubled in two RBI's to send the game into extra innings. In the top of the eighth using international rules the Tigers added two more runs.

In the bottom of the eight the Golden Bulls scored one run.Â

Aniylah Lane pitched eight innings and faced 42 batters. She struck out four and walked three and gave up 13 hits.

Up next, the Golden Bulls will return to conference play and visit Claflin University on Saturday Apr. 6, in Columbia, South Carolina before return home to Biddleville Park on Apr. 9, taking on Morris College.
