JCSU Drops Pair to Crusaders, 23-1 and 15-0

Box Score CHARLOTTE - Johnson C. Smith University softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to North Greenville University on Wednesday afternoon at Jan McDonald Field, falling 23-1 and 15-0 in Tigerville, South Carolina.

North Greenville exploded for 20 runs in the first inning and never looked back, collecting 24 hits in the 23-1 victory.

Johnson C. Smith tallied three hits in the contest, with Skylar Bledsoe and Logan Masinsky each recording doubles. Shakiyla Pickens scored the Golden Bulls' lone run in the fifth, coming home on an RBI double by Masinsky. Pickens also stole a base.

In the circle, Masinsky (0-1) took the loss, tossing two innings, while Jahzira Hogan worked two innings in relief. Defensively, JCSU committed six errors in the game.

In game two JCSU was limited to two hits in game two, both from DazeJah Lanham, who went 2-for-2 with a double. The Golden Bulls struck out nine times and left one runner on base.

In the circle, Jahzira Hogan started and allowed seven runs (four earned) without recording an out. JCSU committed seven errors in the contest.
