MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (March 20, 2026) – The No. 7 seed Johnson C. Smith University fell two games to none to the No. 2 seed Virginia State University, which dropped the Golden Bulls to the elimination bracket.

Facing elimination, JCSU fell to rival Livingstone College losing two games to none, eliminating the Golden Bulls from championship play.

At the end of day one, Johnson C. Smith along with Virginia Union became the first teams eliminated.

JCSU ends the season with an 9-39 record.
