Johnson C. Smith University snapped a two-game losing streak, defeating the visiting Tigers of St. Paul's College 91-81. Led by the efforts of Terry Givens, who recorded his first career double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, the Bulls were able to move one step closer to 1,000 wins in men's basketball history. Four other starters scored in double-figures with the assistance of Maurice Hooper who had his 20th double-digit scoring night in as many games.

Johnson C. Smith never had more than a 10 point lead in the contest, and the Tigers kept fighting until the end. Smith dominated the paint scoring 42 of their points in the lane. Jerome Givens had 16 points and dished out eight assists. Ryan Scott and Jerry Hollis contributed 15 points and 12 points in the victory.

Hassan Robinson led all scorers in tonight's contest with 27 points on 5-of-7 shooting beyond the arc. Jack Browne had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds while Maurice Boatwright and Bruce Royal contributed 13 and 12 points respectively.

The loss drops St. Paul's to 9-12 overall and 5-9 in the conference while the Golden Bulls improve to 11-8 overall, 9-6 in league play. JCSU will travel to Raleigh next Tuesday to take on the Falcons of St. Augustine's College on February 13, 2007. Game time is at 7:30 pm at Emory Gymnasium.
