Danielle Williams won the women's 100m hurdles final the Jamaican National Championships on June 23rd

Danielle Williams placed first in the women's 100 meter hurdles final at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA)/Supreme Ventures National Senior Championships on June 23rd at National Stadium. Williams will represent Jamaica in the women's sprint hurdles at the Moscow World Championships later this year (August 10-18).
Williams (St. Andrew, Jamaica) won the event clocking 12.69 seconds at the National Trials over Andrea Bliss (12.91). JCSU alumna and Danielle's older sister Shermaine Williams finished in 12.92 seconds for third. The times of the top three runners attained the 'A' standard qualifying requirement.
On the second day of competition, sophomore
Samantha Elliott (Kingston, Jamaica) finished sixth in the final of the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.44; missing her personal best by .10 (one tenth) seconds.
JCSU alumnus Leford Green (St. Catherine, Jamaica) won his fourth consecutive national title in the men's 400m hurdles. Junior Rolando Berch (St. Andrew, Jamaica) qualified for the 400m semi-final recording 46.73 for third in his quarterfinal heat.
Danielle Williams earned an automatic qualifying spot and will compete at the World University Games on July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia.
