The JCSU cross country will compete in the 2009 XC Championships in Cary, NC on October 22nd
Salisbury, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University cross country team competed in their last meet of the season before tuning up for the CIAA Championship. This meet took place on Saturday, October 10th at the Livingstone College Invitational. The meet consisted of the men's college race in which J.C. Smith put forth an outstanding competition.
The men's team finished second overall with a score of 47 and a total time of 2:49:01. Individually, Kent King clocked in at 31:27:61 for sixth, Jonathan Jackson 31:59:84 for seventh, Everette Berry at 35:19:55 for 12th, Cardin Jones at 36:20:11 for 13th, and Jordan Harkness clocked in at 36:42:30 bringing in 18th out of 24.
Overall, Pfeiffer University finished first with a score 20 and a total time of 2:35:42. Livingstone placed third and Bluefield State came in fourth.
The Golden Bulls will continue to prepare for the intense CIAA XC Championships on Saturday, October 22nd located in Cary, NC. The main objective for the Championship is to set the best time so they can move on and compete in the NCAA DII Regional's.
