JCSU earns their first win of the season vs St. Paul's during the CIAA Round-up
Hampton, VA - The Johnson C. Smith University volleyball team picked up their first win of the season over Saint Paul's College 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-7) on Friday evening inside the Boo Williams Complex during the CIAA Volleyball Round-up. JCSU improves to 1-6 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA.
Freshman defensive specialist Tahlia Jolicoeur (Marietta, GA) led the way for the Lady Golden Bulls with nine kills, four service aces, and three digs. Junior middle hitter Mauranda Elliott (Tabor City, NC) had an all-around performance for J.C. Smith with five kills, four service aces, and three digs. Sophomore setter Alexis Webb (Durham, NC) had a match-high 18 assists along with five digs in the victory.
Tekesha Rhodes collected 11 digs and Jennifer Carter had six digs and a kill for the Lady Tigers, who drop to 1-3 overall and 0-2 CIAA.
The Lady Golden Bulls will continue play this weekend in the CIAA Round-Up, which began Friday and will end on Sunday in Hampton, VA at the Boo Williams Complex.
JCSU returns to the court on Saturday where they are scheduled face Virginia State University at 12:00 pm, Bowie State University at 4:00 pm, and Lincoln (PA) University at 8:00 pm.
