Johnson C. Smith 1-1 after two back-to-back matches

Charlotte, NC - The Lady Golden Bulls volleyball team swept Allen University 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-22) Tuesday evening inside Brayboy Gymnasium in non-conference action. JCSU improves to 3-13 overall and 1-1 at home.

Sophomore middle hitter Jasmine Parker (Durham, NC) led the attack for Johnson C. Smith with nine kills and three digs with a .333 hitting percentage. Junior middle hitter Mauranda Elliott added six kills and four service aces. Sophomore setter Alexis Webb had a match-high 17 assists to go along with five digs.

For the Yellow Jackets, Ariel Moton had seven assists and three digs, while Desiree McCrimmon had six kills and a solo block.

First year head coach Emerald Fulmore earns her first win at home this season. "Hopefully this win will spark a trend and we can play a little more consistent," says Fulmore.

Now JCSU will hit the road for a pivotal CIAA Western Division contest against Chowan University on Thursday, September 24th in Murfreesboro, NC. The match starts at 6:00 pm.
