Jennifer Williams led the offensive attack with seven kills in the 3-0 loss to FSU
Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team fell to Fayetteville State University in three sets (25-15, 28-26, 25-18) on Monday evening inside Brayboy Gymnasium. JCSU moves to 6-12 in the overall standings and 4-7 in the CIAA; while the Broncos improve to 10-4 overall.
J.C. Smith started off sluggish and allowed the first set to get away 25-15. The Lady Golden Bulls won the first four points of the second sets. FSU rallied back to tie the set 24-24 down the stretch. Despite some back and forth opportunities to win; Fayetteville Set won the set 28-26 with an ace from Ifeyinwa Nwokolo.
JCSU was competitive in the third set, but FSU won the match with a 25-18 close out set. Nwokolo led the Broncos with 12 kills with a .562 hitting percentage. Samantha Meeks had nine kills and two digs, while Achari Mainor collected 26 assists.

The Lady Golden Bulls will compete again at home in their next contest against Winston-Salem State University on Wednesday, October 6th. Match play is scheduled for 6:00 pm inside Brayboy Gymnasium.
