The Lady Golden Bulls on a four-match skid

Box Score vs. Livingstone

Salisbury, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team could not produce enough offense against CIAA divisional rival Livingstone College in a three-set road loss on Friday evening inside the New Trent Gymnasium. JCSU moves to 6-14 overall, 4-9 in the CIAA, and 1-4 in the Southern Division; while the Lady Blue Bears improve to 10-9 overall, 6-6 in the conference, and 2-3 in the division.

JCSU had an enthusiastic effort in the match, but the team was overpowered by Livingstone's offense. The Lady Golden Bulls allowed 40 kills to their opponents as the team took the three-set loss, 25-12, 25-14, and 25-21.

J.C. Smith struggled with just 13 kills and 19 total attack errors in the loss. The team had 31 digs on the defensive side. Junior outside hitter Tahlia Jolicoeur (Marietta, GA) led the Lady Golden Bulls' effort with eight kills and three digs. Freshman setter Kayla Bazemore (Fayetteville, NC) had a team-high 11 assists. Junior setter Alexis Webb (Durham, NC) scooped up a team-high nine digs and three service aces.

The Lady Golden Bulls will return to action on Saturday, October 9th when the team heads to Tigerville, SC to take on the North Greenville University in a 10:00 a.m. tri-match. The Lady Crusaders earned a 3-0 victory inside Brayboy Gym earlier this season (9/30/10); The Lady Golden Bulls will have the opportunity for revenge and a season series tie.
