Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team hosted the 20th Annual All-Star Basketball Camp on July 18-23 inside Brayboy Gymnasium. Charlotte native and shooting guard for the NBA's New Jersey Nets, Anthony Morrow stopped by to speak with the campers and provide some basketball tips and advice.
The Golden Bulls basketball camps provide a positive environment for learning individual skills, interacting with other campers and coaches, as well as building self-confidence through live team play.
Campers received teaching from three-time CIAA champion men's head coach and winningest active coach in the CIAA, #Steve Joyner, Sr#.; also assistant head men's basketball coach and CIAA Hall of Famer
Mark Sherrill. Johnson C. Smith has continued with their normal summer programs to offer the youth something positive to do with their time that will aid them both physically and personally.

Smith has always realized its responsibility to the youth of Charlotte," said Joyner. “It's been a privilege to service this community the past 20 years with our camp and we look forward to continuing as well as enhancing the program. I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to those who helped make the camp a success, especially Anthony (Morrow) for taking the time to speak.”
Anthony Morrow is a 6'5, 210 lbs, shooting guard who went undrafted out of the Georgia Institute of Technology in the 2008 NBA Draft, but was later signed by the Golden State Warriors and is now considered one of the best pure shooters in the NBA.
In his first NBA start, Morrow scored 37 points on 15-for-20 shooting against the Los Angeles Clippers—the most points ever scored in a game by an undrafted player in his rookie season—and grabbed 11 rebounds. Morrow finished the 2008-09 season as the first rookie and first Warrior ever to lead the league in three-point field goal shooting, going 86-for-184 for a .467 percentage.
In the 2009 NBA Summer League, Morrow scored 47 points for the Warriors in a game against the New Orleans Hornets - setting the record for the most points scored by an individual in a game at the NBA Summer League.
In the 13th game of the 2009–10 NBA season, Morrow set a new career-high with six three-pointers in a victory over the Dallas Mavericks. On July 13, 2010, Morrow was traded to the New Jersey Nets for a future second-round draft pick. He is a native of Charlotte and attended Charlotte Latin School for high school.
