Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team overcame deficits in each set for a 3-0 (25-22, 29-27, 26-24) victory over Morris College on Friday evening inside Brayboy Gymnasium. JCSU improved their overall record to 5-9 in the first home match of the season. The Hornets, who compete in the NAIA, drop to 1-4 in the standings.
The Lady Golden Bulls refused to give up a set to Morris in front of a sizable home crowd. JCSU was ahead 21-16, until Morris put together an offensive attack strong enough to tie the score. Head coach Emerald Fulmore took a timeout and J.C. Smith came out refocused to close out the set 25-22.

After a long stint on the road, the Lady Golden Bulls finally get some home cooking. JCSU will face Benedict College on Monday, September 27th inside Brayboy Gymnasium. Match play is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
