Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team remains unbeaten after a 79-54 win over Pfeiffer University on Friday evening during first day of the Queen City Classic inside Brayboy Gymnasium. JCSU improves to 3-0 overall, while the Lady Falcons fall to 1-3 in the standings.

This ball game was controlled by JCSU from beginning to end. The largest deficit faced by the Golden Bulls was by two in the opening minute of play. Going into halftime, Pfeiffer trailed 43-28 and only shot 35.7% from the field (10-28). By comparison, Johnson C. Smith made 47.2% of their field goal attempts (17-36) in the first period.

All-CIAA preseason senior guard Terran Quattlebaum (Mitchellville, MD) had the most scoring production in the contest. She scored 19 of her game-high 22 points in the first half. Quattlebaum hit 7-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-10 from the three point line before the break.

The Golden Bulls dominated the glass with a 59-31 rebounding advantage. Head coach Vanessa Taylor showcased team depth with a 14-player rotation down the stretch. Sophomore center Racquel Davis (Bamberg, Germany) contributed 16 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes as a reserve. Senior guard Shavonda Price (Fort Wayne, IN) had 13 points and four rebounds off the bench. Price shot 71.4% from the field (5-7) and 66.7% from the three point line (2-3).

Senior guard LaQwesha Gamble (Winter Haven, FL) delivered her second double-double in three games. Gamble grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds (10 defensive) along with 13 points and four steals. In her three games played, Gamble is averaging 13 points and 13 rebounds per contest.

Christina Harvey paced Pfeiffer with a team-high 13 points and eight boards.

Johnson C. Smith returns to action on Saturday, November 19th for the final day of the Queen City Classic. JCSU will square off with nearby Wingate University at 6:00 p.m. inside Brayboy Gymnasium. In the earlier contests, Livingstone will play Pfeiffer at 12 noon followed by Winston-Salem State against Tuskegee at 2:00 p.m.
