Charlotte, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team will challenge Division I opponent North Carolina A&T State University on Monday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m. inside the Corbett Sports Center. The Lady Aggies compete out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and returns home after an 84-74 road win over North Carolina Central University on December 3rd.

JCSU travels to Greensboro, NC for Monday's game a week lay-off. The Golden Bulls surprisingly dropped a 62-57 home contest to nearby Queens University of Charlotte. Johnson C. Smith ignited the year with a five-game winning streak, including a season-opening victory over Queens (72-63).

A road, overtime loss to No. 21 Rollins College snapped the five-game success roll. JCSU rebounded with a 76-63 road win over CIAA rival Bowie State. However, the loss to Queens brings the Golden Bulls to 6-2 in the overall standings and 1-2 in the last three games.

The team is scoring on average 68.9 points per game, while holding opponents to 61 points. Senior guard Shavonda Price (Fort Wayne, IN) is leading JCSU in scoring with a 16-point per game average. Price has started in five of eight contests, but plays more of a sixth man role. She had a career-high 23 points with nine rebounds in the win over Bowie State.

Quattlebaum has started all eight games with 12.1 ppg average. She leads the team in three-point field goals made and attempted (17-60). In seven games played, Davis is averaging 10.4 points and 9.4 boards.

North Carolina A&T is riding the wave of a five-game winning streak that includes a 76-66 victory over Clemson University. NC A&T ranks 29th in the nation among Division I schools in scoring offense (77.1 ppg) and ninth in steals per game (15.4).

Guard JaQuayla Berry ranks among the top 200 scorers in the nation, with 14.7 ppg. Amber Calvin is fifth in the nation in three-point field-goal percentage (.552), and ranks 45th in the nation for free throw percentage (.885). Mikala Scott is 25th in the country for steals, with a 3.6 steals average.

JCSU head coach Vanessa Taylor has been recognized two of the first three weeks as the CIAA Coach of the Week. Taylor is just one victory away (199-107) from reaching her 200th at Johnson C. Smith University.  Coach Taylor has a tough task ahead in this first time meeting between the two programs.
