Chicago, IL – Johnson C. Smith University assistant women's basketball coach Ronnie Enoch has been selected to participate in A STEP UP, a symposium for the professional development of assistant coaches presented by Felicia Hall Allen & Associates set to take place April 29 – May 1 at the Intercontinental Hotel Chicago O'Hare in Chicago, Illinois. Coach Enoch also received an Uplift Scholarship to cover some the cost of the conference.

Ronnie Enoch has recently completed his third season as the first assistant coach for Women's Basketball and his sixth season as a member of the coaching staff.

Enoch brings strong credentials as a coach and recruiter at the collegiate level. His recruiting efforts helped guide JCSU to its first CIAA Tournament Championship in school history during the 2009 season. The Lady Golden Bulls have appeared in the CIAA Championship game four out of the last six years and had four berths in the NCAA Division II Tournament (2006, 2008, 2009, & 2011). JCSU women's basketball has posted a 140-71 overall record in his six seasons on the bench.

JCSU women's basketball accomplished some great feats during the 2010-11 season. The team finished with the most wins (26) in an individual season in JCSU history. Two student-athletes recruited by Coach Enoch received conference accolades; junior transfer guard LaQwesha Gamble was named All-CIAA and true freshman Racquel Davis earned All-Rookie team honors.

J.C. Smith women's basketball captured the 2010-11 CIAA Southern Division regular season title and finished with the best overall record in the conference. Throughout the year, JCSU received rankings in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region and ESPN/USA Today Women's Coaches Poll. JCSU entered the Atlantic Regional Tournament as the No. 2 seed (highest regional seeding in school history). The Lady Golden Bulls advanced to the championship game of the CIAA Tournament and the NCAA DII Atlantic Region Tournament.

Felicia Hall Allen & Associates is a motivational speaking, training, Consulting and sports management organization. CEO and President, Felicia Hall Allen firmly believes that the “greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches, but to reveal to him his own.”

The symposium will cover 10 topics including “Making It Happen – How to best support your Head Coach & The Program” and “Winning the Right Way” led by Hall of Fame coach Theresa Grentz. Several coaches from the Division I & II levels will be on hand along with coaching legend and ESPN Analyst Carolyn Peck.

The UPLIFT Registration Scholarship has been made possible by a generous commitment from The National Collegiate Athletic Association to support the advancement and professional development of ethnic minority coaches. The scholarship will cover the cost of the participant handbook and meals provided during the conference.
