Atlanta, GA - The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team defeated Spelman College 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon inside the Marguerite Gym. The victory gives JCSU their first of the season to move them to 1-4 in the standings, while Spelman drops to 3-2.

J.C. Smith's defense held Spelman to a .000 hitting percentage in the first set and -.068 hitting in the third set. Sophomore outside hitter
Sabrina Johnson (Columbia, SC) was a strong contributor for JCSU with six digs, three aces, and two kills.
