JCSU VOLLEYBALL HEADS UP THE ROAD TO JOHNSON & WALES FOR ACTION

Johnson C. Smith 2-0 in away matches this season

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team will face Johnson and Wales University on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. inside the JWU Student Center. JCSU enters this non-conference matchup 4-8 overall and 2-5 in the CIAA; after a 2-4 finish at the CIAA Round-up this past weekend.

The Lady Golden Bulls opened the roundup with 3-0 victories over Bowie State and Lincoln PA on day one. On day two, J.C. Smith fell in three sets to Chowan and Elizabeth City State. The third and final day featured contests with Virginia State and Virginia Union.

VSU won the first set 25-20, but Johnson C. Smith rebounded with a 25-22 win in the second. This would be the first match of the season for JCSU that extended longer than three sets. The Lady Trojans went on to win the match after a 25-18 win in the third and a 25-12 score in the fourth. The final match was a three set loss (25-17, 25-23, 25-15) to Virginia Union.

The Lady Wildcats of Johnson and Wales will come to the court with a 2-14 overall record. JWU dropped their last match to Morris College (3-1) on their home floor. J.C. Smith traveled to Sumter, SC and defeated Morris in three sets.

JCSU will look to stay unbeaten on the road. Match play is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. on the campus of Johnson and Wales (Student Center).
