JCSU VOLLEYBALL RETURNS TO BRAYBOY TO CHALLENGE SHAW ON THE HARDWOOD

Last home match was Sept. 4th

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team finally returns home for competition. JCSU will face Shaw University on Friday, September 23rd in CIAA action. Johnson C. Smith currently holds a 4-10 overall record with a 2-6 mark in the conference. The Lady Bears have gotten off to a slow start, entering this match 2-13 overall and 1-6 in the CIAA.

JCSU suffered a 3-0 CIAA road loss to St. Augustine's on Wednesday evening. The night before, Johnson and Wales University pulled out a victory in five sets on their home floor. Prior to that, J.C. Smith battled for a 2-4 finish at the CIAA Roundup in Hampton, VA.

As the Lady Golden Bulls begin to enter into their divisional schedule, Brayboy will be the competition site for the next four opponents.

Senior captain Jennifer Williams (Mitchellville, MD) and sophomore setter Kayla Bazemore (Fayetteville, NC) will be ones to watch on the court. Williams leads the team in kills with 48, followed by Bazemore as the assist leader with 112.

Both teams look to snap losing streaks. JCSU has dropped their last six, while the Lady Bears have been unsuccessful in their last two matches.

Match play is scheduled for Friday, September 23rd at 6:00 p.m.
