Parks is 2nd overall in the nation for scoring

Hampton, VA - Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball junior guard Trevin Parks (Hickory, NC) has been recognized by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) as the Player of the Week of the week ending January 28, 2012. This is his fifth weekly conference honor selection for the 2011-12 season.

In less than two seasons, Trevin Parks reached his 1,000th point scored at JCSU this week. First, he produced 27 points and six rebounds on the road against Virginia State. Next, Parks recorded 28 points in an 83-75 divisional victory over Fayetteville State at home. Parks is leading the CIAA in scoring and ranks 2nd overall in Division II. After this week's performance, Parks has 1,010 career points as a Golden Bull.

The Golden Bulls will remain in Charlotte for their next contest against Winston-Salem State University on Monday, January 30th. Tip-off for this divisional clash is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside Brayboy Gymnasium. Last season, the two teams split the series; each winning on their home floor.
