Trevin Parks scored a season/game-highs of 36 points in the 88-77 victory over Felician to earn Tournament MVP honors

Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team earned an 88-77 win over Felician College on the final day of the Claude Saunders/Wendy's Tip-off Classic held inside Brayboy Gymnasium. JCSU improves to 3-0 overall, while the Golden Falcons fall to 2-1 in the standings.
Despite going into halftime with only a 45-43 advantage, JCSU led for almost the entirety of the first half. The Golden Bulls shot 58.6% (17-29) from the floor, compared to 44.7% (17-38) shooting for Felician. Senior guard

Terrence Washington (Charleston, SC) paced the team at the break with 17 and 10 points, respectively.
In the second half, the Golden Falcons sparked an 8-2 scoring run to grab a 51-47 lead. However, after a three-pointer from freshman guard
Joshua Linson (San Antonio, TX) and two scores from Parks quickly put the Golden Bulls back in front.
JCSU led by as much as 12 in the second half and never relinquished their advantage from the Linson-Parks scoring series.
Four Golden Bulls scored double figures. Parks had season-highs 36 points and eight assists to earn Tournament MVP honors. Washington finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and three blocks to be elected to the All-Tournament Team. Junior forward

Emilio Parks (Ashtabula, OH) each had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Jarryd Horsley-Fordham scored a team-high 14 points with eight rebounds for Felician. Antoine Obery produced 10 points and six boards to also be selected to the All-Tournament Team.
JCSU has started their season on a three-game winning streak for the first time since the 2008-09 season. That just so happens to be the last time the Golden Bulls won the CIAA Tournament Championship.
The Golden Bulls return to action on Tuesday, November 20th against nearby Queens University of Charlotte. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Brayboy Gymnasium.
