Numerous Golden Bulls lead several categories

Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team has several student-athletes with high rankings in various statistically categories for the NCAA Division II and the CIAA conference. There are four categories led by a Golden Bull in the CIAA.

Senior guard and reigning CIAA Player of the Week Trevin Parks (Hickory, NC) highlights the list as the leading scorer in Division II and the CIAA with an average of 25.7 points per game. Within the conference, Parks also ranks 2nd in free throw percentage at 83.5% (152-182), 5th in assists with 4.1 per game (77 total), and 7th in three-point shooting percentage at 41.5% (49-118).

Sophomore forward Emilio Parks (Ashtabula, OH) leads the conference and ranks 5th in Division II for field goal percentage at 64.9% (113-174). Parks has been a rebounding machine for the Golden Bulls. He is 4th in the CIAA for total rebounds with 138, 4th in defensive rebounds per game at 5.2, and 6th in total rebounds per game with 7.3.

Senior forward Terrence Washington (Charleston, SC) ranks 17th in the nation and 1st in the CIAA for blocks per game with 2.1 (36 total). Washington is just behind Emilio Parks for 2nd in the CIAA for field goal percentage at 64% (71-111).

Junior forward Antwan Wilkerson (Greensboro, NC) is ranked 5th in the conference for steals per game with 1.7 per contest. Wilkerson is also currently 6th in the CIAA for blocks per game (1.2 blocks) and 7th in the conference for defensive rebounds per game with 4.6 per contest.

Juniors Richard Daniels, Jr. (Winston-Salem, NC) and Robert Williams (Atlanta, GA) are 1st and 5th in the CIAA for assist to turnover ratio. Daniels leads the conference at 2.9 and Williams is at 2.1.

The high ranking Golden Bulls will showcase their skills in their next matchup against No. 19 Winston-Salem State University on Wednesday, January 30th. Tip-off for this divisional contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Brayboy Gymnasium.
