Fayetteville, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team shut out Fayetteville State University 9-0 on Monday afternoon in a divisional matchup played at Mazarick Park. JCSU improves to 4-11 overall, 4-3 in the CIAA, and 3-2 in the Southern Division. The Lady Broncos are winless at 0-6 overall.

Khadijha Battle (Atlanta, GA) won 8-0 in the number one doubles match against Samantha Ledbetter and Taylor Norris. Senior
Samantha Barnes (Hampton, VA) and junior
Keiana Love (Wilson, NC) only allowed one point in their 8-1 victory at the number two doubles spot. Junior
Felicia Akande (Winston-Salem, NC) and sophomore
Nichelle Heard (Douglassville, GA) won the third double match by forfeit.
Love, Akande, Battle, and Heard all won and dominated singles matches two through five by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Anderson defeated Ledbetter in both sets (6-1, 6-3) in number one singles. Barnes earned a singles victory at the number six spot by default.
The Golden Bulls will now prepare for the second CIAA cross divisional roundup held March 15-17 hosted by Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. JCSU will play Lincoln on March 15th, then Virginia Union on March 16th, and finally Bowie State on March 17th.
