JCSU WOMEN’S TENNIS SIGNS TWO NEW MEMBERS FOR THE 2013-14 SEASON
Both Georgia natives
Charlotte, NC – Johnson C. Smith University head women's tennis coach James Cuthbertson has announced two new additions to the tennis program.
Victoria Glover and
Victoria Ogundipe will be attending JCSU in the fall of 2013 as freshman tennis student-athletes.
Glover hails from Fayetteville, GA and recently graduated from Whitewater High School. She played varsity tennis and lettered all four years of her high school career. Glover has received several individual and tournament honors. In addition to playing, she has increased her knowledge of the game as a volunteer youth tennis coach during the summer of 2012.
“Victoria (Glover) is a very good player and we're very happy to have her join our program,” said Cuthbertson. “Victoria impressed me with her speed and ball handling; she'll be a fine addition to our team and institution.”
Ogundipe comes to JCSU from Jonesboro, GA. She graduated with honors from Jonesboro High School. Ogundipe played varsity tennis throughout high school and served as team captain all four years. She also played volleyball in high school and won the 2011-12 JV county championship.
“Victoria (Ogundipe) is an outstanding tennis player and has a great command of the game,” stated Cuthbertson. “One of the things I really like about her game is her willingness to come to the net. Women players that come to the net tend to have an advantage.”
JCSU women's tennis finished the 2012-13 season with an overall record of 10-15 and conference mark of 10-6.
