JCSU Women's Basketball Downs North Greenville, 75-61
Box Score Tigerville, S.C. (November 22, 2014) -- The Johnson C. Smith women's basketball team had four players score in double-figures in a 75-61 win at North Greenville.
JCSU's
Ashley Porter (Winston-Salem, N.C.) secured a double-double, scoring a team high 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds on the afternoon. Â
Shanequa Phifer (Salisbury, N.C.) scored 11 points, canning three three-pointers on the afternoon. Â Fellow Golden Bull teammates
Kaylah Gholson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
Quinesha Lynch (Rocky Mount, N.C.) each scored 10 points in the winning effort.
The Golden Bulls shot 52.7% in the winning effort and harrassed the Crusaders into 21 turnovers. Â North Greenville's Timisty Nelson scored a game-high 21 points. Â The only other NGU double-figure scorer was Alishia Hope, who contributed 17 points in the losing effort.
The Golden Bulls will head to Greensboro on Tuesday, Nov. 25 to take on North Carolina A&T. Â Tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Corbett Center.
