Charlotte, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team earned a season series split with Fayetteville State University after a 60-57 victory on Saturday, February 8th at Brayboy Gymnasium. JCSU improves to 12-9 overall, 7-5 in the CIAA, and 2-4 in the division. The Lady Broncos drop to 16-5 overall, 9-3 in the conference, and 5-1 in the Southern.
The first half was low scoring, but the game was fast-paced with up tempo defensive plays. JCSU trailed for the entire opening. Fayetteville State went into the locker room with a 21-20 halftime lead. The Golden Bulls faced a 21-12 deficit with 2:53 remaining. Senior guard
Karnina Bunch (Vicksburg, MS) capped an 8-0 run with a jumper at the buzzer to account for the score at the break.

JCSU never relinquished their advantage and led by as much as 11 before staving off a Lady Broncos' run with a 60-57 victory.
