Last event before the JCSU Invitational

Auburn, AL – The Johnson C. Smith University men's outdoor track and field team had some record-setting performances at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic held at the Hutsell-Rosen Track on the campus of Auburn University April 4-5th.
 
The men's 4x400m relay team of sophomore Waynee Hyman (Warwick, NY) 47.4, sophomore Patrick Campbell (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) 46.9, freshman Joshua Cunningham (Ontario, Canada) 47.1 and freshman Gawayne Stephenson (Clarendon, Jamaica) 49.6 showed up big running 3:11.19 for a season best.  The time ranks No. 3 on the TFRRS performance list and is a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Senior Randale Watson (Kingston, Jamaica) 50.97m (SB) for fifth in the discus. The performance is a NCAA provisional qualifier and ranks No. 4 on the TFRRS performance list. Tracy Jones 44.32m competed to 14th place in the event.

Campbell timed in at 52.63 (SB) to place fourth in the 400m hurdles. His time was a NCAA provisional qualifier and ranks No. 7 on the TFRRS performance list. Seniors Joshua Chasse (38.62m) and Kenneth Page (36.36m) had season best throws in the javelin.

Junior Nykwan George (Long Island, NY) placed 16th in the 1500m with a (PB) time of 4:27.63. Junior Geovanie Foote (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) finished 17th in the same event with a time of 4:45.5. Freshman Joshua Cunningham (Ontario, Canada) placed ninth in the 400m (47.99).

Watson had a throw of 14.87m for 13th place in the shot put, while sophomores Tracy Jones (Charleston, SC) 13.24m and Marco Vahoua 12.96m placed 21st and 22nd, respectively.

The Golden Bulls will host their next meet on April 11-12th at the Irwin Belk Complex. This will be the annual JCSU Track and Field Invitational. Field events will be on Friday, April 11th, followed by a majority of the track events on Saturday, April 12th.
