Leon Minto (East Elmhurst, NY) is one of the 19 undrafted free agent signings by the Houston Texans for the 2014 season. Minto reached an agreement with the Texans of the National Football League (NFL) on Saturday, May 10th following the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Minto played and started nine games for the Golden Bulls football program during the 2013 season. At the defensive tackle and defensive end positions, Minto recorded 35 total tackles (21 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. He recently completed his studies to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from JCSU.
The Texans added four defensive linemen who were undrafted free agents including Sullivan Grosz from Cal Poly State, Tyrone Ezell from the University of Pittsburgh, and Austin Brown from the University Miami of Ohio; in addition to Minto.
This is the second consecutive season a Golden Bull will participate in a NFL rookie mini-camp. Last year, Jordan Mosely was invited to the New York Giants rookie mini-camp as an offensive lineman.
