The challenge tips off on Saturday, with fellow CIAA member St. Augustine's taking on Wheeling Jesuit at 2:00 p.m.  JCSU will then take on Glenville State at 4:00 p.m.  On Sunday, St. Augustine's will battle Glenville State, while JCSU will tangle with Wheeling Jesuit, also at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., respectively.

JCSU, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Stephen Joyner, Jr., returns 2013 All-CIAA selection Ashley Porter (Winston-Salem, N.C.) for her senior season.  In 2014, Porter scored 9.4 points per game and pulled down 6.9 rebounds.  She also shot 42.7% from the field and had a team-high 35 blocks.   Also returning will be senior LaTondra Morrow (Charlotte, N.C.).  Morrow will be returning after missing the 2014-15 season with an injury.  In the 2013-14 season, Morrow started 13 games for JCSU, shooting 30.8% while dishing 41 assists.

Also expected to contribute heavily is senior post player Amena Brent (Chicago, Ill.) and transfer guard Krista White (Dayton, Ohio).  Last season, Brent shot 46.8% from the field and pulled down 109 rebounds.

White comes to JCSU from Kent State.  While with the Golden Flashes, White averaged 6.9 points per game while starting in 15 games.  She shot 38.3% from the field while scoring 192 points and had 41 assists while leading KSU in steals with 35.

Also returning for JCSU is senior forward Larryqua Hall (Atlanta, Ga.), sophomore guard Asha Jordan (Monroe, N.C.), and junior guard
Quinesha Lynch (Rocky Mount, N.C.).

Last season, JCSU finished 20-8 overall and posted a 10-6 record in CIAA play.  The Golden Bulls were particularly good at home in the friendly confines of Brayboy Gym, going 10-2 in contests on their home floor.
