Morehouse Downs JCSU Men's Basketball in Season Opener

Box Score Tuskegee,Ala. (Nov.13, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith basketball team had four players score in double figures but it was not enough as Morehouse took a 77-70 season opening win on the first night of the CIAA-SIAC Challenge in Tuskegee, Ala.
JCSU's
Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C.) came off the bench to score a game-high 25 points on a 9-for-15 shooting effort. He also hit all six of his free throw attempts on the night. Teammate
Stedmon Lemon (Lithonia, Ga.), an All-CIAA pick last season, posted a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Lemon went 5-for-17, including 2-for-7 from long range on the evening.
Also scoring in double figures for JCSU was senior
Alandre Davis (Florence, S.C.) and sophomore guard
Robert Davis (West Friendship, Md.), with both going for 11 points.
Collectively, the Golden Bulls shot 40% from the field on 26-of-65 shooting, including a 13-of-16 outing from the free throw line, good for 81.3%.
Morehouse (1-0) also had four players in double-figures, led by Tyrius Walker's 20 points.
JCSU will complete play in the challenge, taking on host Tuskegee on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (CST).
