JCSU Men's Basketball Wins 66-59 at Tuskegee

Box Score Charlotte, N.C. (Nov. 14, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith men's basketball team had four players score in double figures and limited the Tuskegee offense to only 33.8% shooting en route to a 66-59 win at the CIAA-SIAC Challenge in Tuskegee, Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bulls got 16 points from senior Alandre Davis (Florence, S.C.).  Davis went 7-of-12 from the field and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds against the Golden Tigers.  Senior
Stedmon Lemon (Lithonia Ga.) also had a productive outing, scoring 15 points while securing eight rebounds.  Lemon also had a 5-of-6 effort from the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Robert Davis (West Friendship, Md.) and Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C.) also turned in a double digit performance, with Davis going for 12 and Pratt scoring 11 points.

As a team, JCSU shot 43.1% (22-51) from the field and were particularly effective at the free town line, connecting for a 20-of-25 from the charity stripe.  JCSU also dominated play in the paint, outscoring the Golden Tigers 26-18.

The win draws JCSU to 1-1 overall on the young season and gives head coach Stephen Joyner, Sr. his 498th win at the helm of the JCSU program. 

The Golden Bulls will return to play on Wednesday, Nov. 18, travelling to Jefferson City, Tennessee to take on Carson-Newman.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
