Men's Basketball To Play at BSC Currence Classic This Weekend

Charlotte, N.C. (Nov. 25, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith men's basketball team looks to continue its four-game winning streak this weekend when it travels to Bluefield, W.Va. to take part in the Bluefield State Currence Classic on Nov. 27-28 at the Ned Shott Gymnasium.

The Golden Bulls (4-1) will take on Francis Marion (3-1) on Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m.  JCSU is paced by senior forward Stedmon Lemon (Lithonia, Ga.) and fellow senior Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C).  Lemon was recently named the CIAA Player of the Week after averaging 26.3 points over his last three games.  He scored 30 in a win over Benedict, 20 against Apprentice and 29 in a road win at Carson-Newman.  Thus far, Lemon leads JCSU with 22.0 points per game and is shooting 50% on the season, including a 35% clip from long range.

Pratt has also been a force, as he currently averages 16.2 points per game.  His best outing thus far was a 25 point outburst in the first game of the season against Morehouse.  Pratt also poured in 20 points at Carson-Newman and had 17 against Apprentice.

Sophomore guard Robert Davis, III (West Friendship, Md.) is averaging 11.2 points per game while running the JCSU offense. In addition, he has dished out 20 assists and is shooting a perfect 100% (10-10) from the line.

After taking on the Patriots on Friday, JCSU battle Concord on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2:00 p.m.
