JCSU Falls to Concord, 106-97

Box Score Bluefield, W.Va. (Nov. 28, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith men's basketball team got a game-high 34 points from senior Stedmon Lemon, but dropped a 106-97 decision to Concord at the Currence Classic hosted by Bluefield State on Saturday afternoon.

Lemon, a native of Lithonia, Ga., went 13-of-23 and hit four three-pointers on the afternoon.  Teammate Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C.) also had a productive outing, going 9-of-11 with three long balls to record 24 points in the loss.  Josh Linson (San Antonio, Tex.) went 4-of-10 from long range, finishing with 14 points.
The Golden Bulls shot 53-7% (36-of-67) on the afternoon including a 12-of-27 effort from long range, good for 44.4%
Concord (6-0) had two players score at least 30 points in Aaron Miller (30) and Rob Reed (32).  Concord hit 16 three pointers while shooting 48.5% from beyond the arc.  Concord also owned the boards, outrebounding JCSU 43 to 28.

The loss drops JCSU to 4-3 overall on the season.  The Golden Bulls will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 1 to take on local rival Queens in part of a doubleheader with the JCSU women's team.  Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.at the Levine Center.
