Box Score Indiana, Pa. (Nov. 28, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith women's basketball team could not overcome a sluggish first half and fell to Edinboro, 60-46 in the IUP-Lodestar Classic in Indiana, Pa. on Saturday afternoon.
JCSU found itself down 17-8 after the first quarter and 35-23 at halftime after a dismal 32.1% (9-of-28) shooting performance. Things did not get better for the Golden Bulls, as Edinboro enhanced their lead to 16 points, 51-35 at the end of the third quarter.
JCSU whittled the lead down to 56-46 after a three-point play from
Jaylaan Dillard (Raleigh, N.C.) but that was as close as it got with Edinboro taking the 60-46 win.
JCSU was led by Dillard's nine points while
Amena Brent (Chicago, Ill.) had eight points and nine rebounds. Senior
Larryqua Hall (Atlanta, Ga.) also had eight points in the loss.
The Golden Bulls (3-2) will finish play on Sunday, taking on host Indiana (Pa.) at 2:00 p.m.
