Charlotte, N.C. (Nov. 30, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith University men's and women's basketball teams will travel to local rival Queens on Tuesday, Dec. 1 for a rare early season non-conference doubleheader.

The JCSU women's team looks to break a three-game skid after dropping two games to regionally ranked opponents this past weekend at the IUP-Lodestar Classic.  The Golden Bulls fell to Edinboro, 60-46 on Saturday, Nov. 28.  Against the Fighting Scots, guard Jaylaan Dillard (Raleigh, N.C.) was the high-scorer with nine points.  Senior teammate Amena Brent (Chicago, Ill.) was able to score eight points and had a team-high nine rebounds.  JCSU struggled from the field, shooting 36.5% (19-of-52) while going 0-for-8 from long range.

Against host Indiana (Pa.), JCSU fared no better, connecting for only 29.8% (17-of-57) from the field and managed a 1-of-11 effort from three-point range. Senior center Ashley Porter (Winston-Salem, N.C.) scored 11 points and had eight rebounds for the Golden Bulls.

The JCSU men also dropped two contests over the past weekend, falling to Francis Marion, 83-80 on Friday and to regionally-ranked Concord on Saturday, 106-97.  Stedmon Lemon (Lithonia, Ga.) continued his hot play, scoring 15 points against Francis Marion and exploded for 34 points against Concord.  Lemon currently leads the CIAA in points per game with 22.7.  Senior Diondre Pratt (Morven, N.C.) also had a great weekend, scoring a team-high 16 points against Francis Marion and 24 against Concord.

Tipoff against the Royals will be at 6:00 p.m. for the women followed by the men's game at 8:00 p.m. from the Levine Center on the Queens University campus.
