JCSU Women's Basketball to Host USC Aiken On Saturday, Dec. 12

Charlotte, N.C. (Dec. 10, 2015) – The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team will return to the court looking to avenge an early-season loss when they host USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 12 at Brayboy Gym. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
After an extended break due to final exams, JCSU will be returning to the floor for the first time since a 65-49 non-conference win over Virginia State on Dec. 6. Against the Trojans, JCSU had two players secure double-doubles in seniors
Amena Brent (Chicago, Ill.) and
Ashley Porter (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Brent scored 12 points and hauled in 11 rebounds while Porter had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
MaryAnna Moore (Laurens, S.C.) also had a great day, bringing down 13 rebounds and scoring six points in the win.
JCSU (6-3) has won three straight games, two of which have come at home in the cozy confines of Brayboy Gym while USC Aiken (4-4) has lost three straight games. Their last win came in a 52-49 home win over JCSU on Nov. 23.
In that game, Rachelle Aupont poured in a game-high 16 points while Emry Tsitouris notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Alexis Ware also reached double digits for the Pacers with 10 points.
